The Script Factory: commwork's core business

It was with its Script Factory that commwork AG began back in 1989. The premises at the time – a beautiful Belle Epoque building on Haldenstrasse in Lucerne – produced specialist journals, customer publications and supplements to newspapers and magazines. The writers who worked there included a number of freelance journalists from the Lucerne area. They also included Peer Teuwsen, who is now editor-in-chief of the Swiss edition of the “Die Zeit” weekly, and other journalists who are well known far beyond the Central Switzerland region. The operation also had its own layout designer and what was then state-of-the-art Apple Macintosh technology.

What remains at commwork today from that original foundry of print products is the writing: of articles for newspapers and magazines, PR copy, annual reports and more. Ghostwriting is a particular commwork strength. Executives and politicians are frequently asked to provide an article on this or that topic, or to prepare a speech for an anniversary or some other company or public event. But how can they find the time to do so in their packed work schedules? This is where Christian Müller and his Script Factory can help, producing a text that is factually sound and insightful (thanks to extensive research), is carefully tailored to the speaker (thanks to a thorough personal consultation) and is produced with all due speed and discretion.

One small point, though: the Script Factory has never produced an inflammatory anti-immigration tirade, and will never do so, either. A ghostwriter must also be able to stand broadly by the content of their work if they are to produce it with the soundness, strength and sincerity that are the hallmarks of all good writing.

A writer through and through
It was a simple letter to the editor from Christian Müller that prompted a daily newspaper to ask him if he would write for them on a freelance basis. He agreed. And he hasn’t stopped writing since: for newspapers and magazines, for brochures, even whole books. He’s sure to carry on writing, too, for himself and for others. And maybe for you…
